Powerful and efficient cleaning with HVO100-powered high-pressure unit on electric vehicle for ROVA

ROVA is a public service provider that works on behalf of 23 municipalities to create a clean, liveable environment. One of its core tasks is managing and cleaning outdoor areas such as streets, squares and public spaces. For many years, ROVA has relied on Waterkracht's high-pressure cleaners. When it was time to replace the outdated units, ROVA looked for a solution that was powerful, efficient and sustainable. In cooperation with Waterkracht, an electric vehicle was equipped with an advanced high-pressure unit.

ROVA wanted to renew its cleaning capacity without compromising on performance, but with a clear environmental benefit. Fully electric cleaning was technically not yet feasible due to the power and deployment time required. Therefore, a hybrid solution was chosen: an electrically powered vehicle combined with powerful diesel units running on 100% renewable fuel (HVO100). For this, Hydropower developed a customised solution that combines optimum performance with a minimal ecological footprint.

The high-pressure system is fully integrated on the electric vehicle and designed for sustainable deployment in the urban environment:

• Cooking Hot Water Technology® for thorough and fast cleaning
• High pressure up to 250 bar, 17 litres per minute
• 2,000-litre water tank for long-term use without refilling
• Durable diesel engine (18/19 hp) for the high-pressure unit, with an average consumption of only 4.31 l/h
• Powered by HVO100, a 100% renewable fuel

Thanks to advanced heat exchanger technology, residual heat is utilised, reducing fuel consumption by an average of 1.6 litres per hour. The result: significantly lower emissions of CO₂, particulates and nitrogen oxides - without compromising cleaning power.

With this hybrid vehicle, ROVA has a powerful and sustainable cleaning solution. Electric driving and smart heating are combined with renewable fuel, leading to:
